Ken Beidler is a potter living and working in Philadelphia. He discovered clay as a child living in Indonesia. Study of clay continued in high school art classes and more recently through internships and apprenticeships at The Clay Studio, the Main Line Art Center, and through study with local ceramic artists. From 2009-2010, Ken worked as a studio assistant for Brad Johnson, a ceramic artist working in Havertown, Pennsylvania.
Since 2011, Ken has taught ceramic courses for adults at the University City Arts League in West Philadelphia. He is a juried member in the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. In 2014, he was awarded master artisan status in the Guild. In addition to selling his functional pottery in stores in Philadelphia and surrounding areas, his work has been shown and sold in local juried arts and crafts shows.
Ken has a studio space in The Cedar Works located in West Philadelphia. Begun in 2012, this new space has grown to include other ceramic artists in a shared community art space. He also currently works as the Studio Technician at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia.
